Set of four Golden Ellipse wristwatches with dials in cloisonn enamel.

This limited edition, presenting the first Golden Ellipse watches with dials in Grand Feu cloisonn enamels, was inspired by the work of the Japanese artist Ohara Koson (1877 945), renowned for his prints combining flowers and birds.

To reproduce these little pictures with their refined compositions, the enameler used, depending on the dial, from 40 to 50 cm of gold wire 0.05 mm in diameter, shaped by hand and fixed to the gold base plate. To conjure up the delicate shades of the plumage, branches, foliage and flowers he worked with a palette of transparent, opaque and opalescent enamels in 29 to 39 colors, making subtle use of gradation. Each dial required from 15 to 20 firings at a temperature of approximately 830掳C.

The white-gold case whose harmonious proportions were inspired by the golden section houses a caliber 240 ultra-thin self-winding movement. The baton-style hour and minute hands are also in white gold.
