992/137G – RARE HANDCRAFTS MANUAL WINDING Pocket watch with cloisonn enamel, miniature painting on enamel and hand-engraving. This unique piece showcases one of Nature curiosities, the Siamese fighting fish. To depict this fish with its flowing fluted fins, Patek Philippe united two Grand Feu enameling techniques: cloisonn and miniature painting on enamel. Creating the contours of the fish required 12 cm of gold wire (0.04 g) measuring 0.05 x 0.4 mm in cross-section, while its coloring called for transparent, opaque and opalescent enamels in 15 colors and some thirty firings at temperatures ranging from 700掳C to 850掳C. The border of the picture, the bezel and the bow are hand-engraved with a delicate wavy pattern representing 82 hours of work. The dial in white gold hand-guilloched beneath transparent blue enamel presents white-gold applied Breguet numerals. A briolette-cut blue sapphire (0.29 ct) decorates the crown. This piece is accompanied by a white-gold handcrafted stand repeating the fluted form of the fins, on a blue aventurine base set with a briolette-cut blue sapphire (0.42 ct). It houses the caliber 17 €欌€?LEP PS manually wound movement with small seconds.
